The Town of Newburgh Memorial Post 1161 was Chartered June 17, 1982

By virtue of charter granted, this Post shall be known as Town of Newburgh Memorial Post No. 1161, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the name of the corporation is Town of Newburgh Post 1161 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Inc.  The location of this Post shall be in the Town of Newburgh, 12550, County of Orange, State of New York.
